Enjoy a fun and creative Summer art class taught by professional artist and elementary art teacher, Ms. Shelley, in her Art Studio at Smart Toys & Books! Classes are offered on Fridays or Saturdays
Artists (ages 5-11) will explore their creativity by making an impressive painting on canvas and a unique clay creation, all inspired by a fun theme and guided art lesson. Also available are Jewelry & Gem Making, colorful Soap Making, and Mosaic Birdhouse classes! Each masterpiece will be ready to take home the same day.
Attend one or try them all for an immersive art experience (these are drop off events, if attending morning and afternoon classes on Friday please pack a nut-free lunch for a picnic break from 12-12:25!)

In these popular Summer Art Camps taught by professional artist and elementary art teacher, Ms. Shelley, kids enjoy exciting themes in a fun and creative environment as they discover, play, and learn fine art techniques. Artists (ages 5-11) will design several wall worthy masterpieces as they paint on canvas, create with clay, and other exciting mixed media art materials!

Artists will be able to choose the project they would like to create using quality art supplies. All projects get to go home the same day! Different times are available for Families, Kids, & Teens

-paint and glaze an adorable ceramic animal figurine or flower bowl
-design your own creation using DAS Italian clay (can be painted at home)

Kids Creative Clay, Mosaic, & 3D Art: Students absolutely love this class as they get to work with clay, texture rollers, armature, clay molds and tools to create a fun variety of sculptures, bowls, and creatures, and can even design light up fairy, gnome, unicorn, or dragon houses! Kids will create several projects during the semester and also how to create some very cool mosaic masterpieces and how to use the 3D printer to design creatures they are interested in to be added into their artwork!
Kids Painting & Mixed Media Art: Students will create impressive projects as they paint with Artist level paints on canvas and wood, create using oil pastels, watercolors, and modeling paste, and design with mixed media art materials as they learn about animals, nature, famous artists, and some cool Fine Art techniques in this fun class! Kids can add their own creative ideas and be inspired by their classmates as we explore the amazing world of color and paint.
Kids Science + Art Class: Students will spark their imagination and creativity as they learn how to create through experimenting and learn about science and how it relates to art. This includes the study of animals, nature, creating geometric and 3D Art, how buildings are designed, mixing cool recipes, adding different textures into paint, and the science behind using gravity and spin techniques in art. Students will create with paint, clay, paper mâché, and mixed media art materials in this class.
Creative Arts Class (10+): Artists, ages 10-15 will be working on individual painting, clay, mosaic, and 3D art projects based on their personal interests and creative ideas. They will be able to choose the masterpieces they would like to design using a variety of high-quality art supplies, while Ms. Shelley, a professional artist and art teacher, provides expert guidance to help bring their ideas to life.
Kids may sign up for multiple classes for an immersive Art experience!

She teaches Fine Art Enrichment in school, for local Art programs, taught the Pro Golfers kids on the PGA Tour, and was a featured Art Instructor on the Living East Tennessee TV show with Kelli Smith & Erin Barnett, ABC/WATE, Knox News, WVLT, Macaroni Kid, Knoxville Moms, Little Ones, and City Lifestyle Magazine.
