Here are some helpful answers to the questions I get asked the most!
I have planned some excellent Art lessons and quality projects that I am excited to teach your kids this Fall. All Classes at the Art Studio are small group (we make lots of great stuff so some classes will only have 5 students and some classes will have 7 depending on the projects and the time it takes to complete them) We have an abundance of art supplies and clay tools for each student to use and all supplies are provided for your child.
Please dress to be creative (an old t-shirt, apron, or your favorite art clothes work great!)
I have been teaching multi-age Elementary Art groups for almost 20 years in schools, Studio settings, on the PGA tour, in Art Camps, Homeschool, and Afterschool programs and absolutely love it! I have learned the Art of personalizing my instruction to creatively challenge each student to help them grow with age-appropriate art techniques in a fun, engaging, and educational learning environment. Each lesson has been carefully planned and the students are always excited about what we are creating! Many of my Art families have siblings that like to attend classes together, so it really is ok for a 6 and 9 year old to be in the same class as they will both make amazing Art on the level they are currently at! Classes are process based so students are able to explore using different Art materials and I intertwine these learning moments with educational lessons and class demonstrations so the kids can understand the concepts of each work of Art they are making. Students will need to be able to follow class instructions, work independently, and respect the art space and projects that others have made. That being said, if your child loves Art, I hope to see them in the Studio for a class!
We follow the 5 Core Standards for Health & Safety as set forth by the Knox County Health Dept. The Art Studio has its own sink for frequent handwashing, all Classes and Camps are small group this year (half-capacity), and we use air purifiers with HEPA filters in the classroom space. I am fully vaccinated and due to the Delta variant will be wearing a mask in class at this time. Please do not bring sick kids to class, contact me and I will work with you to get them an Art kit they can do at home. We had a healthy, happy, creative Summer and look forward to a fun Fall semester!
Due to limited seating and Art supplies for your child being purchased in advance, cancellations up to 1 week before the start of your class will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 1 week of your class are not eligible for a refund (you may sell or gift your seat to a friend)
If we can't operate for any reason, a refund for the unused class tuition paid will be applied.
In the rare event only 1 or 2 students sign up for a class it will still go on! I have set aside this time to enrich the lives of the kids in our Community so it is my pleasure to be able to share my knowledge, collection of creative Art materials, and inspiring lessons with your children, whether it be one student in a class or more. We always have an amazing, creative time and as an Art Teacher I am so happy that your child has a passion for Art and am excited to be a part of their amazing journey!
