Here are some helpful answers to the questions I get asked the most! Always feel free to text, call, or email if you have additional questions (please note: during business hours I am usually teaching but will return all voicemails in the evening- text is always the best way to reach me for a quick answer)
I have planned some excellent Art lessons and quality projects that I am excited to teach your Artists! All Studio Classes and Camps are small group and we have an abundance of quality art supplies, clay tools, texture boards, and paint brushes for each student to use. You will not need to purchase any supplies as they will be provided for your child in class.
Please dress your child to be creative. Aprons are available however we do use high quality acrylic paints while making our very cool and wall worthy Art that do not easily wash out of clothes! Kids are kids, they can make a mess, and you will be grateful they are making it in my Art space and not at your dining room table. Students will be able to dry their masterpieces at the hair dryer stations so they can take them home at the end of class!
I have been teaching multi-age Art classes for over 20 years in schools, camps, Art Studios, and for the Pro-Golfer kids on the PGA tour and absolutely love it! I have learned how to personalize my instruction to creatively challenge each student to help them grow with age-appropriate art techniques in a fun, engaging, and educational learning environment. Many of my Art families have siblings that like to attend classes together, so it really is ok for a 6 and 9 year old to be in the same class as they will both make amazing Art on the level they are currently at (I have Sculpture blocks, drawing, and craft stations available for those that finish early to keep their mind busy while others are still creating!) Classes are process based so students can explore using different Art materials and I intertwine these learning moments with educational lessons and class demonstrations so the kids can understand the concepts of the Art they are making. It is important that your child is able to follow class instructions, work independently, and respect the art space and projects of others.
Class Change: Due to limited seating and supplies being purchased and prepared in advance for your child, please email [email protected] or text (865) 440-3729 no later than 2 weeks in advance of the start of your child's booked Art class, summer camp, or Spring/Fall Art session. Please include the class and time your child would like to move to that has an open seat of the same value (if more, an invoice will be sent to you or you can pay the difference at class.)
If your child is unable to attend due to a schedule conflict or sickness, you are always welcome to sell/gift your child's seat to a friend. As each class is different, we do not offer make up classes for missed events but can arrange a time for your child to drop by the Studio and create a colorful paint pour on canvas or if the project missed is one I can draw up and send home to paint, I am more than happy to do so!
Cancellation: If requesting a refund (with the 2-week advance notice required), it will go back to your original form of payment less a: $10 cancellation fee per Drop in Art Class $20 cancellation fee per Summer Camp $40 cancellation fee per Fall or Spring Session
Once a class, camp, or session has started no refund will be given as all supplies have been purchased in advance and that seat has been held for your child.
In the event of an emergency and we are not able to open and operate, the Instructor will communicate with you by email and text and you will be able to move your child’s class date to another time or opt to receive a full refund for that class.
Thank you for understanding that many hours go into planning classes, buying, and preparing supplies in advance before my students arrive at class. I appreciate your help in supporting the Arts in Knoxville so I can continue to offer these fun and educational classes for Kids! I am so happy your child has a passion for Art and am excited to be a part of their amazing journey!
