Tues. 5:00-5:45 Kids Creative STEAM Class (Feb. 4-April 29)
A fun and educational STEAM Art class for elementary age Kids taught by professional Artist and Art Teacher, Ms. Shelley, in the Creative Art Studio at Smart Toys & Books! Her son is a Senior Engineering student at UTK and she has taught STEAM in professional development classes for TN Educators so they can offer more engaging learning and the creative process that kids love into their classrooms.
Students will spark their imagination and creativity as they learn how to create through experimenting, and learn about science, tech, engineering, and math and how it relates to art. This includes the study of animals, creating geometric and dimensional Art, how buildings and sculptures are designed, mixing cool recipes, adding different textures into paint, and the science behind using gravity and spin techniques in art. Students will create with paint, clay, paper mâché, and mixed media art materials in this class. Quality supplies are included for your Artist!
For returning students, we create different Art each session, so your child will always have new lessons. I have designed and created thousands of quality kid approved projects over the many years I have been teaching and always look forward to sharing these ideas and lessons with your Artist as I meet them at the skill level they are currently at and we grow from there!
This 12-week session of Art Classes meets on Tuesdays from 5:00-5:45 PM during Feb. 4th-April 29th, 2025 (Please note: The Studio is closed March 18th for Knox County Spring Break)
Classes are drop off if you would like to run errands while your child creates!
